Bottles shoot. These are various alcoholic drink bottles photoshoped together for a magazine spread. They were purposely not meant to look totally real. Editorial product photography is illustrative by nature. Time is a factor that weighs. Magazines have limited budgets and many pages to fill with words and pictures. The money that used to be spent on each issue has reduced over the last decade due to less advertising in paper magazines. In fact many have disappeared from the shelves of newsagents. There was an explosion of the number of magazines in the 1980’s and 1990’s. There are still many but they tend to be very specialised now and lower budget. So this shot took about 2 hours maximum to shoot and the same to photoshop. In the past this would have been done in camera and have taken a day to do.
